Dorcas St, South Melbourne

This previously-dilapidated two bedroom row house is located on a very tight site in inner Melbourne. We kept the two front two bedrooms, and worked to redesign the rear.

The extension had compounding issues associated with the common roof line of the row housing of which it is part, and the lack of an individual title. The project team wore many hats: subdivision advice, restrictive covenant interpretation and ultimately the creation of a separate title, illustrating how vital it is to harness the correct consultants who can work together to allow our clients to achieve the outcome they desired.

The resulting design is a lively combination of spaces, materials and textures, and represents extreme value for money, as it cost around the mid $200,000s in 2008. This client has now become a repeat client over many commissions.
