Our biggest challenge at Lexton Grove was responding to an unappealing and imposing 1970s three storey apartment block next door. A curved 'shield' of a roof protects the interiors from our many neighbours to the south. With the adjacent block causing insurmountable over-looking issues in the rear yard, we focused on creating delightful spaces within.
Working harmoniously with the client, we fashioned a palette of materials, artists and artisan craftspeople to achieve an integrated aesthetic result. Now some time since completion, this home's design response still feels fresh and we would be unlikely to change anything.
